Sun, 26 Feb 2012 – Field Day at Sweetwater Road, Awanui

Bring a friend, lunch to share. Trading table. 10a.m. for a 10.30am start.

The AGM is at John Kenderdine’s property where people can see some earth building in progress.

There will be a speaker, Steve Baldry with his "Yardlab" electric wheelbarrow which will amaze and delight you, especially if you have a sloping property!

The field day is on his neighbour’s property - Lynda and Evan have a 1 acre property where they are in the process of implementing a permaculture design using swales for water harvesting and chooks for free labour (weeding) and eggs – it’s interesting to see how much can be accommodated on one acre.

Directions to the Field Day

1. From Awanui, drive north for 5 1⁄2 kms, then turn left onto West Coast Road to Lake Ngatu and 90m Mile beach.
2. 2 kms along this road, turn left into Sweetwater road (immediately after Paparore school).
3. 600 meters down Sweetwater road turn left (the lake is on your right) into driveway of 59 A,B,C - follow track to designated parking area.
